Well, I got the underneath side of the hood painted just now. It came out pretty good. I seen one spot that I didn't cover real well but I think it will be covered by the liner. Now if it will hurry and dry I can get to the good part. The part I spent three days priming and blocking. Man oh man is it gonna be sexy!!!!

The underside I already cleared. It cover real well besides that one spot. But it's the underside so I wasn't worried about it. The top is where it will get tons of love. Why 20psi? It called for 35-40psi. I'm just asking, as I Don't do this everyday.

It's a cheapy from discount. I'll get the name off the box. But it seems to be doing well. Reread the tech on the primer it says required no sealer. It's a high build that takes a hardener like bondo. It's thick stuff let me tell you. I had to take the whole hood to bare metal due to rust spot under rock chips. Then I hit it with a few coats of self etching primer then 3 coats of the feather fill and blocked the snot out of it between each coat of primer.

When I use a gun I always set the air for the spray pattern. You want the air high as it will atomize the paint particles better. The idea behind it is to raise the air pressure to get the best atomization. Pressure too low, your pattern will look like a football, and pressure too high it will look like an hour glass. Try to get a slim even shaped almost cigar like shape, and the pressure will be just right. Don't even bother looking at a gauge, you are looking for that pattern. Besides some recommended pressures are taken at the cap, and you need a special tool for that.
