Yeah I wax Mine. Man is it smooth, I especially like the door panel it feels so Nice when I rest my arm on it. The only problem is I have to wear 2 pairs of sunglasses when I drive.

How a painted interior thread turned into a rice/body kit thread is beyond me.

Painted interiors was not a ricer thing and still isn't. Ricers are not innovators they are imitators, period. Painted interiors started way back in the day; I hope most realize that fully upholestered dashes didn't start until probably the late 60's early 70's? Ricers weren't who brought it back; it was minitruckers. Call one of them a ricer and see how many teeth you lose.

Also, body kits look like *******. Always have always will. I think the Silverado SS and Syclone/Typhoons look like ***; but I would overlook it for the power factor. If you want it lower then lower it; don't do a fiberglass body drop. The kit on Quik's truck is possibly the only one I've ever seen that isn't hideous; but still not my taste which is ok since its not mine.

That being said; nice job on the paint bro; it look really good. I'd rather wax an interior than Armor-All any day

GM Motor in the Hondo would be more acceptable... only cause he's trying to make it better than it could ever be!

Also, tweed / paint did kinda get it's rebirth with the mini's.. I read alot of truck mags. before I ever thought about doing squat to my trucks and long before I found the ultimate goldmine on PT.net..( no not all "Lowrider" mags)

 

Ok tomorrow Im going to start doing some painting, so heres what I got for materials, 180, 220, and i think 500 grit sand paper, duplicolour pewter paint, and duplicolour primer. These are the steps I intend to follow.
1. Clean peices with hot water/dish soap
2. Begin sanding with 180 grid to remove most of texture
3. Sand with 220 to get rid of "hairs"
4. Apply 2 coats of plastic adhesion promoter
5. 2 "light" coats of primer
6. Wetsand with 500 grit sand paper
7. Wash peices with hot water/soap
8. Paint with pewter duplicolour rattle can paint
9. Several coats of clear

Should I change anything or should this give me a good quality painted and smoothed effect?? PLEASE BE HONEST

 

i didn' do all of that. i used a scuffing pad to remove the texture as much as posible then plastic adhesion primer,then used rattle can flexible FILLER primer, coat after coat untill it was as smooth as i wanted it, then sanded it with 1000 grit to get rid of any dripps and runs of the primer, then moved on to 1500 to 2000 grit sand paper to get it as smooth as a baby ***, as far as paint i used real paint not the can cuz i couln't mach it with the can, SPRAY AWAY

 

I got duplicolour primer....thats what its called, will that work ?
