The painted ones look really good. I'd go with red to match the rest of the truck but thats just me. I have a black silverado and I got an aluminum bowtie with flames cut into it and it goes really well with my clear corners.

I sanded mine with 80 grit (real rough) paper and painted it with spray paint from sears (where I work) looks great and It hasn't shown any problems in 6 months. I clear coated over the top of it.

I sanded mine down and painted it and clear coated. Mine is Victory Red as well. Looks real good!!
