While I am not a huge fan of composite guns, my buddy has a 9mm that jams every few shots aswell, but also a 40 that I wouldn't mind having my self.. At first we thought it could be due to shitty ammo, but have piped all kinds through it, including hot hand loaded rounds, still the same...
But since it is your toy, enjoy that bitch, don't shoot your eye out..

I've had a 22(40) for almost 2 years now and my dad has had a 23(compact 40) for around 3 yrs and neither of us have ever had a jam or a problem while firing. My gun is a 00 model and bought it from a buddy of mine so its had thousands of rounds through it and the only thing I had happen was a small piece on the rail for the slide break. Didnt compromise anything on the gun but I sent it to Glock anyway and they gave me a new lower. Never had a problem since. Not many manufacturers will do that for free.
btw, 9mm is worthless

Yea, thats why it is one of the most sold guns in the world, because they suck... lol. Just because you personally dont like them, doesnt mean they suck. They are a great utility gun, we've used them in our academy for more than a decade without problems, putting thousands of rounds through them.
Ammo has a lot to do with jamming, use quality ammo... also if it is brand new, take it back. My buddy had a brand new chevy truck that blew an engine within the first 2000 miles, does that mean they all suck? No, as with anything, **** happens - take the gun back to the store and explain the problem, im sure they will correct the problem.
Anyways -
mcalestermatt nice weapon... but I would have to agree, the 9mm round is not my first choice as a professional who carries daily. It is too small and too hot of a round - the stopping power is lousy as it tends to go through multiple objects, making it unsafe for use as a defensive weapon. The 40 cal is my first choice in person protection... and I know a thing or two about that one could say.

Good choice. The G19 is probably one of the best firearms ever designed. I've personally put over 30k rounds through both of mine and they function 100%. The 9mm is a very good for self defense when coupled with the proper ammunition. I would recommend Federal HST, Winchester Ranger, or Speer Gold Dots, in 124+p or 147gr flavors. All of which, as long as you do your part and put rounds on target, will more than adequately get the job done.
Most people have problems with Glocks due to a couple of reasons, Limp wristing and not cleaning them before they are fired for the first time. The factory copper grease is NOT lube.
BTW, it takes a +P 9mm cartridge to surpass a standard .40S&W load. There is a reason why there is no .40+P.
I am no glock fanboy, I much prefer my HKs.
