Default New tailgate.

Well I went against popular opinion and decided to go back to the stock configuration for the rear of my truck. I'm glad that I'm changing this configuration because the old tailgate and roll pan would need some serious work to straighten out the rust problems. The old tailgate is actually still salvagable but the roll pan is completely shot, at least in my eyes it's not worth trying to save. Here's a pic of the new (salvaged) tailgate and the bumper. All of the plastic parts of the bumper are off and getting prepped for paint. I'm going to be scheduling it with the body shop probably the end of this week.

I'm reworking the rear of my truck. It used to look like this in the pic below but due to poor body and paint work, the roll pan and tailgate was very rusted. I had started a thread asking opinions and almost everybody suggested that I keep my custom rear. After thinking about it for quite some time I decide it would be better for me to go back to the stock rear but also having all the black plastic painted to match the truck color. Here's a pic of how it used to look.

wow I must have missed that post, it does look good, I am sorry that the paint and body work turned out to be crappy.
I think that is what I am gonna do next is get rid of the bumper and go to a roll pan

Yeah, if it hadn't rusted so bad, I would be trying to salvage it but the cost to do so with what I had wasn't worth it.

Hey! I've got a roll pan I can sell you REAL cheap!

Jsmith, what about your exhaust now? How are you going to run it? Just curious.

Yeah I loved the old design. I would have just redone the old one. Now it looks just plane and boring. =(
