Default Need Help: Want to Black-out Truck

I have an '04 Avv with Chrome step bars, bumpers, & grill trim (see pix in sig)...I want to either paint match or black these out to match all the plastic molding. Any recommendations? Is it cheapest and easiest to just paint them? R/

On the grill bar, I just sanded mine down to the plastic and primed/painted/cleared.

As for the bumper, I sandblasted it and had it painted.

Everything is holding up wonderfully!

Thats what I was thinkin, but really wanted to avoid the hassle and just do some bolt ons...powder coating means finding a local guy and waiting a week for the job...etc. Thnx for the info!

You sanded down to the plastic on the chrome strip in the middle of your grille? Hmmmmm, may have to try that one............Did it take forever?

It actually didn't take long at all and was well worth it in the end!
No body shop will do it due to the chrome and how it's a plastic piece instead of metal so I said what the hell and did it myself. I guess it helps to be a perfectionist though!

You painted the grille yourself? It looks great...did you use air powered spray?
