Default My New 2001 1500 Silverado

Well, after a ton of looking around for the right one, I went out and purchased this truck yesterday. It's a 2001 Silverado with the 5.3. It has a 9" lift on it, 18" wheels with 35" tires, cold air intake (not installed yet), a dual exhaust, cowl hood, 52" light bar (may sell that), and a nice aftermarket head unit with two 12" subs in a box underneath the back seat. I plan on installing a set of the Speed Engineering long tube headers and possibly re-doing the exhaust setup. My buddy who tuned my Trans Am WS6 will do a custom EFI Live tune as well. I may eventually change up the wheels and tires once the tires need replaced. I know I'll go up to 37's and would like to run a nice 20x12 wheel setup. Any suggestions on what you think would look good would be appreciated. Anyway, here are some pictures.

damn good lookin truck!!!!!!!!!

how to make it look better? I'd ditch those ricer tail lights for some stockers , lose the big red bow tie in the back window and lose that gas tank door for a stocker, lose the front turn signals for a stocker, install the z71 valance and fog lights (or one of the chrome lower valances since you have the chrome top cap, might look slick that way). Other then those minor things, the truck is perfect. what gears? I'd hope it at least has 4.10's with those 35's.

This weekend, I'm ditching the decals on the rear window, likely going to get rid of the side molding and all the badges, and give it a really good detail. This spring, I'll do a two stage paint correction. I really don't like the taillights either, so I'm going to look into getting stockers.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Speed Engineering 1 7/8" headers, but I'm not sure when their dual exhaust setup will be ready to ship. I'll probably wait until it's ready to ship before buying the headers. And yes, it has 4.10 gears.

Beware when puling the molding, when i pulled mine, there were dents behind both of them of on the front doors as well as a fairly decent one behind the piece on my extended cab wall on driver side(no 4th door:-/)

Ditch the bug shield, clear tails, gas tank doors, body molding, and side markers. Personally, I would lose the rain guards, toolbox, and bed caps as well. Throw some amp power steps on, or nfab bars, z71 tahoe style front bumper painted to match, with fog lights, paint match the grill and bumpers. Find a nice polished 20x12, and a 37" toyo all terrain.

You have a damn good canvas to build something killer on for sure.

I had a '99 classic body z71, that was white over tan, and I did a 3" body lift, and to cover up the gap in the back, I had my paint guy take a diamond tread bedcap, cut it down to fit over the exposed area of the bed between the tailgate and bumper (with the contoured edge facing down), and he shot it in the same color as the bottom of the truck. (Think it was actually called firemist gold metallic). Was a nice touch that blended everything in, and looked factory. I had the screws painted too, which took some work to put those in without f'ing up the paint on the heads lol.

I have always thought the z71 paint matched front and rear bumpers would look good on a silverado....
