Default lowering the rear end of my truck

i have a 1959 chevy pick up and i was wondering what i could do to lower the rear end. Its got a 4 pack of leaf springs and i want to lower it about 3-4 inches. I was wondering if removing one of the leafs from the pack would do what i want and be safe for daily driving. It will not be hauling loads at all and the most weight it will probably see in the bed is 200-250 pounds from one or two of my friends in the back. Do you think this would be ok or should i get new leaf packs made to acheive the drop.

Thanks,
Matt

i would get new spring packs, i wouldnt mess with altering the stock equipment, diffinitly not the optimal way to go about lowering your ride
