Default Lowering Questions

I've noticed that several of you guys have used 4/6 and 5/7 drops and I've been debating on which to go with. Any mods or problems I'm gonna' run into with either one? The ride height is stock at the moment with Toyo Proxes 285/60/18s.

No real probs...requires you to notch the rear which doesnt hurt the truck...some people are picky though and wont do it

I honestly wouldnt do the 5/7 with Oklahoma roads...go with the 4/6

Lol, good point. All the other 49 states have better roads than we do. I thought I may have to notch it, but I wasn't sure. Any guess on how I'm gonna' have to take out?

What do you mean by take out?

A 4/6 uses control arms, c-notch, flipkit and it will need shocks

DJM 4/6 here

285/60/18 sounds like a big tire, as long as your backspacing is good you should be fine though.

4/6 Mcgaughty drop. 2" coil, 2" spindle, 6" cnotch, shock extenders, and c0notch. Beautiful kit, rides greats.

Is your truck a regular cab or an ext cab? I used a Mcgaughy's 4/6 drop on mine; spindles, springs, flip kit, carrier bearing relocation bracket, and the c-notch was included with the flip kit. You can use the c-notch to mark your cut on the frame, which isn't bad. The one place where I had a problem was my lower balljoints wouldn't pop free, so after I got tired of screwing with them I just replaced them.
