If you are looking to buy a 2/4 drop step inside!!!

Some of you may know that I ordered a 2/4 drop this past Sunday. I ordered it from Summit and they called me Monday and said it was backordered for what ever reason so I cancelled my order with them. I got on McGaughy's website and found Street Beat Customs. They currently are running a special on the 2/4 deluxe kit for $400.02. After shipping it was $445 and some change. I talked to Nick and he was awesome to deal with. I told him about Performance Trucks and he said that they were a sponsor and that people from this site do a good bit of business with them. I told him I would spread the word for them. So if you are looking to buy that kit, get it from them. When you call them dial extension 238 for Nick and tell him that you are from PT.net. Mods, I tried to find them on the sponsor list but didnt see them. If they are not a sponsor please shoot me a PM and delete this. Not trying to cause any trouble I just thought I would pass along a good deal to the brethren.

Street Beat Customs is not a sponsor but your post is fine. We can discuss non-sposors all we like as long as we don't link to or post any contact information. Glad you got hooked up!

Thanks Trever. Has anyone ever contacted them about becoming a sponsor? At least from my experience they were great to deal with and Nick said that on their products that arent normally specially priced, they will hook PT.net members up if they mention the forum. Just a thought for whoever does all the sponsor stuff.

Its their deluxe kit. It comes with Spindles, Shackles and Hangers. And all the hardware of course. McGaughy's actually won an award from GM at SEMA for having the most innovative product. Their spindles are the only ones that keep the stock geometry in the front end. It doesnt change the steering radius or anything. Definetly worth the extra cash for that kind of quality IMO. They also have a lifetime warranty on their parts.

Wow, thats cheap... im gonna have to look into it, i was consider dropping my truck but at the same time didnt wanna do it and sacrafice ride quality... every kit that doesnt is like $700 lol. Thanks for the heads up

So the McGaughy's Deluxe 2/4" drop kit won't affect stock geometry or ride quality? Is that true even for 4wd trucks? I have an '03 Z71 4x4 and I'm very interested in doing a 2/4 drop but I want to be sure that it's not going to f'up my steering and suspension in the long run! Also, what's a good set of aftermarket shocks to go with this kit? Bilstein?

any kind of suspension modification is going to change geometry or make rides uncomfortable imo... GM made our trucks the way they are from the factory cause all the engineering and time they put into the suspension to achieve its ride quality.
that being said if you still wanna lower your truck... imo for you, id go with removal of rear 2" blocks then get some 2wd ubolts $30~, then buy 2" lowering shackles $50~, then buy the 2" lowering torsion keys 100~... i would imagine lowering your truck is better for your CVs than lifting it and you have a 2/4 lowering kit for your truck for under $200 minus the shocks. If i am not mistaken then for the rear shocks you can just get shocks off a 2wd as they are figured for not having the 2" rear blocks so they should be shorter... then you can buy w/e you want up front

Belltech makes good shackles. Cheap too. I wouldn't rule out doing spindles. Maybe you can un-twist or re-index the torsions down an inch but the spindles will give you 2". I did both, the spindles (Belltech) and a torsion detwist and the ride improved. I did lose some turning radius but 285 tires aren't helping there either.
