what about those "helper springs" that mount on top of the rear leaf springs. Could those maybe help the rear from bottoming out and increase towing capacity? Just a thought.

If I remember correctly it was about 4k in parts and I did all the work on it.

A couple things to note:

Your bed won't be bottoming out, its your axle hitting the frame.

If you do decide to go bags and someone tells you that you can lay fram on stock height tires without cutting into the bed floor, they are full of ****.

I havn't ridden in a stock silverado in so long that I can't really say anymore whether it rides better or not. I do know that weight in the bed DOES make it ride much better.

Depending on the width and offset of your tires (I run a 275/45/20 on a 20x8 5.5" backspacing) you may need to trim the rear fender lip to keep them from contacting during full suspension compression.

If you're going to be towing heavy loads, then air bags of some type are almost a must when lowered unless you want the rear end to squat. I've towed an RX7 on a u-haul trailer (between 5-6k lbs) and was able to lower the front bag pressure and raise the rear bag pressure so that even with that load it wasn't squatting in the rear.

Since you were obviously looking at my website, you may have noticed that my old truck had a 4/5 groundforce drop with no notch, so I know about regular lowering too if you decide to go that route.

Sorry so long.

AIM SUCKS - I have never had good luck with that company - I you check with the better business bureau - I will blow you away....
My advise would be stick with a larger company,,, Belltech, Hotchiss, etc...
Just had very bad dealings.....

hmmm, just check your crossmember and see. If it hangs down a LOT (like in my pic) then you really should get one.

Go with the 4/6, you'll love it!!!
