Default How to kill the seatbelt chime?

Does anybody know how to disable the seatbelt chime? I am getting sick of it freakin out whenever I start the motor, it inturrupts conversations and pisses me off when I'm just trying to change a cd before i pull out of the driveway. I will have no problem remembering buckle up without, I feel naked driving without it.
Thanks!

Put your head where your feet are at. There is a lil evil box under there called the BCM or something. Inside there is that blasted chime. I removed it, took the box apart and killed the little chime with a small screwdriver.

It's pretty much right center under the steering column.

If I had pics I'd post them, I live in the electronic stone age... dialup, 35mm cameras, 8-tracks/cassettes/LPs and some CDs, etc. You get the picture. LOL

Your truck chimes when you don't have your seatbelt on? Weird...mine doesn't...should it? I didn't remove or do anything to that little box.

My 02 doesn't either, nor does my moms 2001 Yukon or my dads 1999 Silverado.

The infernal machine chimes for like 10 seconds if you start the truck without your seatbelt on. Thanx for the info Hitman. I'll try to surgically remove that BCM bell thingy. I'm a beginner when it comes to wiring and electronics; but I was thinking, shouldn't there be seatbelt sensor wires somewhere that you could cut and cross so the chime would think the seatbelt is always buckled up? My friends 04 silvy comes with the "new and improved seatbelt reminder". I guess I'm not the first to complain about it.

That chime made me crazy when I had just the radio on and the vehicle off. The it alerted me to other nonsense that I did not like nor need.

This guy used an ice pick and stuck it there till the dinging disappeared.

The only thing I see is that I have an 04 truck and the dinging is coming fromt the speaker in the door so there might be a different way to disarm it.
