did you say your headlights always come on even in the daytime. if so the little sensor on the dash isnt working. it is saying that it is dark. so the headlights are coming on.

ah yes the photo eye is not working. I bet if you replaced it it would work,
did you say this has happened ever since you bought the truck, was it used when you got it or brand new?

Had this happen with my dads truck. His dash cover was blocking the sensor. Make sure nothing is blocking the sensor.

The letter of the law is that, in Texas, you can have two pair of headlamps on, but no more. i.e. four bulbs on. I called the Sheriff's office on this one when I got my KC Daylighters, and they read it straight from the law. So no worries that you're doing anything illegal.

But, your issue is definitely not normal. I would doubt it'd be a bad fuse because the result would be that either set of lights wouldn't come on. I'd take it into the dealer and have them replace the photo eye. That's my best guess.

Oh, and I'd have an experienced buddy look at your truck and make sure it hasn't been wrecked, or slighly "used" before.

Dont feel too bad, I havent had my DRL's on for over a year. I changed the bulbs to superwhite's about 2 years ago and they kept burning out, I got tired of changin em so I just kept em in the socket to give it a blueish look even though they dont turn on anymore.
