Default How to fix the Gap in the Bumper??

There is a gap between the top of my bumper and the bottom of the grill. I was wondering if there is a mod to reduce that gap and bring the bumper closer to the grill. Has anyone done this or know how to?

Well, I guess that there isnt a mod to do it, or no one has tried yet. I might be the first to experiment. I saw that there are 6 places where the bumper is hooked to the frame and 4 of those determine the height of the bumper from how it looks. I might try and put some washers on the 4 main bolts and push the bumper up. If I have any free time this week I will try, if not I will try this weekend.

What kinda truck are you talking about?

There are so many different fronts and combos im not exactly sure what you mean...

I have a 00 sierra and would love to remove some gap but as I see it would need some modification to the bumper to make it work.

Let us know how it turns out.

I've done this but its been a while so bear with me.
You will need to remove the bolts holding the front bumper on. I think there are 6 of them. 2 will be on the support bars on the outer edge of the bumper inside the bumper, 2 are accessible from the bottom of the bumper and fro teh last two, you will need to reomve the plastic shield inside the engine bay and are located behind the grill.

Once you remove them, use large gavanized washers to raise the bumper up to the grill. you may want to leave a little gap. I left about 3/8". You may need to grind the hoiles on the support bars a little so you can raise the sides of the bumper up. Pretty easy and cheap to do.

I will try my hardest to get it done this weekend, however, I have two finals on Monday and a big project due on Tuesday, so I might not get to it until Wed. But believe me, I am fixing this, it pisses me off everytime I see the gap. And I will take pictures too.

No, you don't need longer bolts. The stock bolts should be fine. You shouldn't be raising it too much and the bolts are plenty long. Just make sure the washers are galvanized or aluminum so they wont rust and discolor anything.
Put the washers in between the frame and bumper. My problem was that it was almost an inch low on the passenger side and 1/2" low on the drivers side so it looked tilted. I ended up using 3 1/8" washers on the pass and two on the drivers side. It really looks a lot better.
