how do i get the side molding tar crap off??

Default how do i get the side molding tar crap off??

when i pulled off the side molding there is tar as well as a water mark all the way around. what is the best way to get this stuff off?

i have tar/bug remover to get the tar off, but what about the water mark around?

I used 3M adhesive remover for mine. As far as the tar goes....thumbs....and then thumbs+paper towel when the thumbs alone just can't take any more

You can try a clay bar. I would use 3M Finesse-It

i used brake cleaner and then i buffed the spot where the molding was and it came out good as new

I believe brake cleaner can/will eat paint.

I used goof off... My truck wasnt black when i did that.. so if you have a lighter color i would do goof off bc it will look much better afterwards when you go to wax it versus doing that to a dark colored truck... may leave a nasty haze.

I used WD-40 also. It softens the tar/glue and makes it easy to peel off. A little wax afterwards and you're done!

I used paint thinner worked great!! Came right off and didn't do any damage to the paint!
