actually a cowl induction sucks the air out. this way should push the air in. its not going to hurt the performance for sure. i could leave it like it is as my truck is already seeing 20 degree drops in tempurture. i havent seen my gauge get over 170 or so yet, before it was staying around 190-200.

uh i thought a cowel hood works because there is a high pressure point of air at the bottom of the windshield, and the cowel allows the air to actually go into the engine compartment...? hence the reason they had them on chevelle's or whatever.

Correct the air hits the windshield and rolls in a reverse motion down the hood like an upside down tital wave lol this hood wont ram air but it will extract heat and ...may cause a cold air flow in to the engine compartment

well i guess i was wrong. and i'll take you guys word for it that its not going to be ram air , but it sure is'nt going to hurt it and it should help a little getting fresh air from outside instead of out the engine bay.
and no i dont have a plasma cutter(i wish) but i am quit handy with a cut-off wheel in a hand grinder.
