Default helper springs.... need help

Ok, heres the scoop. I have a 2000 rcsb silverado with a 5.3. I've got the Belltech 3"-5" drop kit, with edelbrock IAS shocks in the rear. I need to get helper springs of some sort. Truck likes to bottom out quite a bit, especially loaded. I need to put sandbags in for the winter. I tried the air-ride kit, but it doesn't work. Anyone have suggestions. Thanks

Did you try the Air Lift SlamAir Lowering System Kits. It say it will work on truck up to 7 inch's lowered. Mine is lowered 4 in the back and this kit is the best thing I have ever put on a lowered truck. I have 300 lb in sand bags in the back of mine. You don't even know they are in the bed. I have had up to 1000 to 1200 it it before.
Summit racing carries most of there kits.

I can put a LOT of weight in the bed and these hold up really well.

If that doesn't work, get some air shocks (ones not filled with nitrogen gas rather some that you put your own amount of air into) They look just like regular shocks and they mount in the stock shock locations. Ask GREGGO on here about them. I know he used them on his truck to tow a big trailor and they worked really well.

thanks for info and pics. However the air ride wont work with the shackle and hanger kit. the bags wont clear the bed. thats the problem i was having. Guess i'll go ahead and try the air shocks and see how that works.

Good luck with the air shocks. I have heard they aren't really all that bad.

What about running studded snow tires for the winter?

When I first got my Truck I had to drive it the first winter. I ran cooper weather master studs and it was great.

The only weight I had was my Tonneau.

I thought of doing that, but i'm not going to. I got BFG Longtrail radials. They are pretty beefy for regular tires. I've got 4 sandbags, should do the trick. Just have to keep a light foot.
