Default HELP! Surface scratches

I have some surface scratches on my truck from branches while off-roading. Wondering if anyone has any tips or rubbing compound to use to buff them out. The scratches are not in the paint b/c I can minimize them with my claybar however they can still be seen. Anything will help!!

I've used Meguires "ScratchX" before and it works good. Run your fingernail over the scratch, if you can "feel" it with your nail they will NOT come out no matter how much you work on them.

From your description, I have had the same problem before. It should look more like streaks than scratches, correct? If so, just use any type of polishing compound and it will clean right up.

Meguiar's Clearcoat Polishing compound or something similar should take them out.

Right... no they are not deep... I can't feel them with the fingernail but they do show up against the black..

I heard 3M makes a rubbing/scratch compound that works well. Anyone heard or used anything by them? (I was told it is sold at a PPG paint supplier in town)

The product you want is made by 3M called Perfect It III. If they aren't that deep it will take them out. And yeah you usually can only get it at the paint shop.

I've used the ScratchX from Meguiars to "wax" the entire car on my wifes' black Maxima. The car was covered with fine scratches just from washing it! It really turned out good, especially after I finished it off with a coat of Deep Crystal after the Scratch X.

I use 3M Perfect It II and Finesse It II which are both gritless compounds. They will get rid of any scratch that isnt down to the metal. I swear by this stuff.

Check it out...
