Default High-4 headlight conversion kit??

Does anyone have one of the kits that summit sells?? I know stylin concepts has one and they are both $20, I'm ordering something from summit and was going to just get one of theirs instead of making a seperate order from stylin. Just wanted to know if anyone had the summit kit. THANKS!!

You can do it yourself for free, all you might need is a relay. I had a post on here a while back that said how to do it, just do a search over it and you will probably find it.

I hope my light don't get to hot. I put in 80 watts for lows and 100 watts for highs.

Thanks nightmarechevy

Mine are the same wattage and no problems yet, I've had it for about 2 1/2 years now. The only problem with higher wattage bulbs is that the voltage change in the wiring causes them to burn out a lot quicker than the factory ones. The high 4 headlights will not make them burn out any quicker though. Oh, and they do not get any hotter than normal with the conversion either.

Well just so has it that I have had both kits. The one from Summit is the better of the two. Here is why. My '97 was the one from Summit (actually it is from Painless Wiring) and that was very nice because the relay was wired directly to the battery, the lights, the switch and a ground.
Now my '00 has the one from Stylinconcepts. CRAP!!! That one only goes from power wire of the low beam to power wire of the high beam. Hence, no extra "juice" from the battery to give the lights a full 12volts. I am taking that crappy P.O.S. out of the truck and ordering the Painless.

Now my question is the painless one says only works on the trucks with the "purple and yellow wires to the headlights"? What is up with that? How many color wires were used on these trucks? And why would it only work on those colors?

Anyhow that is my 2 cents since I have had both. Get one that goes to the battery also. It is worth the extra money if anything.

Laters.

I know summit sells the painless setup but they have their own brand (cheaper $20). Unless its as bad as the one from stylin.

I have the Painless one in my 99, works great, easy to install. I used a different ground than their directions because their ground didn't work. If you check out their website, they do make them for all of the newer years, you just have to check the color of the wires to get the right kit.
