Got my 2/4 Hotchkis drop installed
#1
Hey guys, finally got my 2/4 Hotchkis drop installed today. UPDATE: I posted some 2/4 drop pics here: http://www.cardomain.com/id/03screamer . I left the old 2" drop on there so you can get an idea of how much it was lowered. Sorry the pictures are so small, that's all cardomain will allow as far as size. If you need more pictures just ask. I was contemplating doing it myself, but then just decided to have a local performance shop do it, since I don't have much time during the week. I got the truck back around 5:30, and ended up driving straight home for dinner unfortunately. The drive home was only about 5 miles, so I wasn't able to get as much time under my belt. There's this one S type turn that goes like so __/""""" (sorry for my poor computer skills lol) that I take a lot on my way home. It gives me a great idea and feel of how vehicles handles, the turn transistion really lets you know how the car rolls and how the steering response is. When I feel like testing it out in the truck, I usually take the turn at about about 35-40 mph, so I decided to take it at a hair over 35mph with the drop. Anyway, the truck felt a whole bunch better going through the turn, not nearly as much roll, a much more crisp feeling, and it felt a helluva a lot tigther than before. To sum it up, now I can go through that turn at 35 without thinking about it
. I'd imagine that with the swaybars it would handle sweet for a truck. I wasn't paying that much attention to the ride, I guess that's because it felt pretty good, at least where I was driving. As far as looks, I would like the rear to be up maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 inch from where it's at, but it's no biggy. I think the bedcover I have, weighs the rear down a bit. I measured from the ground to the fenders and the front is about 1/4 lower than the rear on the left side. On the right side they're about even (passenger side), I wish the right front front would drop a little bit more. Oh yeah, I just remembered I have a full tank of gas in it right now, so I'd imagine once it get's down, it will give it a bit more rake. All in all I'm very pleased with the kit, I'll keep you guys posted on the ride, handling, and loading abilities in the following days. I'll post some pics tommorow or on wednesday once i get the exhaust hidden. Great! One more thing to cross of my long list

Make sure after you've driven it for about a week to take it back and have the shop retorque the bolts.
Dude, get the sway bars....you will love the ride even more

I put some pics of my truck with the 2/4 drop up on cardomain, there on the small side, but still decent pictures. I took them real quick earlier, because the weather isn't looking to good. I also left the old pics with only a 2" rear drop, so you can get an idea of how much the kit lowered it. Here's the link: http://www.cardomain.com/id/03screamer
