Default Gords vs Xtreme vs Mothers Polish - and wheel metal protectant?

OK, it's 16, just snowed 6" and isn't getting above 30 for weeks. Seems like a perfect time to polish the wheels.

Has anyone actually try all three and have a comparison? I'm using Mothers with a dremel and a felt disc and it works well. I'm just wondering if any of the other will bring out an even better shine.

TXSilverado, how did that x-tremes metal protectant work out for you?

Give Adam's Metal Polish 1 & 2 a try. www.adamspolishes.com It really is amazing. What type of Mothers? I've used their Billet Polish with good results, my only complaint is that it's too thick and creamy for intricate areas. Never used Gords

I would have to agree on the Adam's polish. I just used some on my wheels. They were in horrible shape, but after i polished them they look amazing, and I just used my hands. They would have likely come out better with a drill and powerball.

Pretty good for a rookie and doing it by hand. This is Adam's #1,#2

Yep, I just did my wheels with mothers and got similar results. Used a dremel with the felt discs. Looks great now but I'm always looking for the best product, just wondering if anything else woulc bring out an ever greater shine.

More importantly I'm trying to find something to protect it now.

After polishing I use Mother's pure carnuba wax and with a powerball wax it thick. This seems to help keep my wheels cleaner for a couple of months.

I'll try that. I just figured the wheels woudl get hot and have the wax dissolve away, but I guess not hotter than the hood of your truck in the middle of summer.

x-treem worked pretty good but nobody sells it locally. these 219's actually clean up a whole lot easier than some of the other polished wheels on the market. now i just use mothers billet on a microfiber...it takes me about 5 minutes per wheel if i keep up with them (polish them about once every 1.5 months)...the 219's will eat a powerball in about 10 minutes. that was a waste of 20 bux
