As far as LED choice, I got the single wide angle leds from superbrightleds.com to avoid the 'hot spots' from the narrow angle leds and they are quite dim. From the pics Dub put up, I need to get the 4-led bulbs to brighten up the cluster to match my Cobalt guages. Now, somone just figure out how we can have orange needles witht the blue background.

You can do the ac lights, as well, but from what i have heard its alot more involved, and most dont think its worth the effort. I have not tried mine or looked into it much. Im happy with the results from just the gauges.

I bought a white gauge overlay from nu image.. the numbers/letters appear blue anyway at night... so to avoid a funky look with doing blue on blue.. i got the white lights.. seem too look the same as the blue ones.. my camera sucks tho... so no pics.

I think im gonna do my mom's 04 monte carlo... how involved is that to take the dash off? Clips again i'd imagine... probably going white or maybe red since its a red car.

 

is it hard to take the needles off? Because i remeber seeing a write up where someone took the stock needles off and took a razor blade and just scraped off the orange on the needles.Is it hard to take the needles off and put them back on?Because when i do this i dont want the orange needles id like clear ones.Or maybe can i just buy escalde needles?

 

Well.. the thing with the needles is that when you put them back on.. u have to find the right spot.. like when u go to push the needle back into the spot that you took it out of.. you cant push them real hard u have to find just the right placement or your mph could be off or your gas could be too high (doh, happened to me )...etc.

theres a way of doing it.. but i didnt take the time to learn how to do it right.

back to the original question: it isnt hard to get them off.. i just pryed them off with a small screw driver....some of them are a little harder than others.
