ok so here is the deal. its all th way up to the sun roof down the windshield and all over the hood down the passenger front door and left front fender. down the grill and on the front bumper (which is painted) and in some nooks and crannies too. the insurance said not to wash it off and go striaght to the body shop first. that way it is on file where all the egg went. then she can go wash it. she said there was at least 5-6 eggs if not more.i should get pics tonight then i will post them.

 

That really sucks. Make sure you take it to the best paint shop you can, sounds like you might get some of those little dings and scratches taken care of.

 

thats what i was hopping for. kinda making lemonaid from lemons i recon. usaa has her going to one that has a life time warranty. i guess even if we move its they fix it if its their fault. i think i'll call and see what paint they use too.

 

holey crap that sucks . . . yeah once it's baked on and dried, not even a pressure washer will take it off. It starts to bubble the paint after a long time.

Get a real good webcam for your pc and it should come with security software. just point it out the window when your gone and it'll record for ya when there's movement.

Anyway, eggs etch into the paint pretty quickly so by now the damage is done unfortunately. If you want to try to fix it start with a clay bar after you wash the egg off. Follow that with a paint cleaner/polish. If you want to stay OTC pick up some Meguiars ScratchX and a Meguiars terry cloth towel and go to town. Put a dime size amount of ScratchX on the towel for a 1'x1' area, make sure to use some pressure and move your hand quickly to generate some heat. ScratchX is pretty mild so you probably won't be able to totally remove the damage but you might be able to make enough improvement that you don't have to file a claim (don't know how much your deductible is).

Did the shell chip your paint? If they are small, shallow chips you can fill them in with a sharpie that matches your truck then wax over it to blend it with the rest of the panel. Sounds stupid but it works better than you might think.

 

Our military is no doubt the best, but every base that I have lived on there has always been the little group of kids -in most cases, early to late teens- that run around and think they can get away with anything. If serious penalties are put in place and somebody gets caught it usually squelches the activity for quite a while. The last base I was at there were kids breaking into empty houses, thankfully it only took a note with some serious ramifications if caught to stop that.

My family's Volvo was egged along with my friends car -off base- and it really ticked me off... it's vandalism if you stop and think about it.

Hope everything turns out well, and besides, look at the positive... the Tahoe gets to have a make-over. I suggest getting a car cover after it's done. Just an idea.

man last halloween i got egged hardcore style i parked on the street to give the lil kids comin up thru the driveway a clear path man and i when out to move my truck at about 10 30 my whole driver side hit up i got the lil spider ripple effects and everything this year i said **** it im just chillin in the driveway this year lol but yeah man i feel ur pain why would somebody mess something up that they dont even know how hard was to get just hating for no reason
