Unhappy Fog Light Problem

I'm installing fog lights on my 02 silverado and I don't understand where to hook it up to the BEC. Does anybody have a picture of where the wire goes in? I know it's under it but I don't know where in the "grid" to put it.

not sure exactly what you are trying to do. when i put my PIAA fogs in, i put them in the stock location, hooked the positive and negative wires directly to my battery, and mounted the relay switch to my dash and tapped its wire into my stereo. now my fogs run when ever my stereo is on. it is almost like DRLs. i don't have to turn on my parking lights to run the foglights. i have complete control of them with the relay switch that is double sided taped to the dash

A relay? So, I can set it up so when my headlights come on my fog lights come on too? How does this work?

Or better yet, is there some way I can just hard wire up the foglights to use the stock switch and not go through any of the stock wiring through the computer? Like the way you would wire a set of aftermarket foglights up but just use the stock foglight switch.

i looked to see if stock foglights came with your truck. didn't appear so, so i am assuming that there is no stock push button on the dash for foglights. you could do 2 different things. you could use wire taps and tap the new foglight wires into your parking lights' wires. so when you turn on the parking lights, the fogs should come on too. not sure, but you might rob some power from them. the way i would do it is hook the positive and negative wires from the new fogs directly to your battery, but you are going to want to turn them on and off, so you have to run a wire from the positive post on your battery to a toggle switch (can buy one at an autoparts store) which you can mount in your cab,. then hook a wire coming from the toggle to the positive wire on your fogs. the toggle just opens and closes the positve circuit. not sure if this helps. let me know.

That helps a lot but can I somehow use the fog light switch that came with the trucks equipt with fog lights? I already have one sitting at home.

xXxSilveradoxXx: You need the wiring harness, relay and the fog and cargo lamp switch.
It seems to me like you already have the fog and cargo lamp switch, so I'll go on to the rest.
You need to put the relay (GM#12088567) here...

Then when you get the wire harness all connected to your truck, you have to take the one end and connect it underneath the fuse box. I have attached 2 pictures from the instruction manual on how to do this.

Even after all this, I think you will have to go to the dealer and have them switch the fog light feature on.
I hope this helps.

Thanks, I already have all the parts needed I just need to know where to plug in the fog light harness wire under the electrical box.
I just dont understand what these two pages are saying.

This page tells me to remove the center terminal.

Now here's where I'm lost, the fog light relay seems to be directly above the terminal closest to the back of the truck. Also there is already a wire coming from that spot. Am I looking at the paper wrong? The circle in the center of the terminal on the instructions is the bolt, right?
Here's some pictures of the underside of the Electric box where I need to plug this thing in.
