The problem is the abrasives start out so large that the compound itself can inflict it's own swirl marks that will be VERY hard to remove by hand. My suggestion is to get some decent microfiber and some Meguiars ScratchX or Speed Glaze if you can get your hands on it. ScratchX is very mild and will probably take multiple applications but it works regardless. Just be ready to put some work into it.
