Default a few tips for detailing the oustide?

im planning on detailing my truck in the next few weeks.

clay, polish and wax from what i understand. it hasnt been properly maintained other then normal washes for the past year.

i use a variable speed polisher/grinder every day for my job, so i am capable of handling one without damaging anything, although i understand paint is differen than what i deal with.

1. should i use a 7" polisher or similar?
2. how many rpms?
3. whats a good polishing compound i can get at a local auto supply store?
4. what bonnet or pad should be used to do the polishing or waxing?

thanks
