Default A Few Pictures Of My New (to me) Truck!

She's a low mileage '07 with the 5.3L. I keep trying to tell myself to leave her alone and not mod her, but that's SOOO difficult when the parts are in stock and at my disposal every day at work! I think a Maggie and some headers would do the trick....but then part of me wants to just port the stock heads, put in a baby cam, stall, headers, etc and just have a healthy NA truck. Anyway, here's a few pics

And one of my son giving her the once over inspection...he approves!

What kind of work would you do to the heads? I'm considering head work on my 243s but don't want to spend a ton of cash.

Nice truck too!

I'd just CNC port and valve job them....maybe put a bit larger valve in them, maybe....and I'd put in a very small LSL lobed camshaft so it would retain a stock-like idle and great torque.

But Maggie's are nice for torque too, lol!

Assuming you were staying NA, what would make you increase the valve size? Wouldn't the smaller bore of the 5.3 create too much shrouding around the valves if you went up to say 2" and 1.6" valves?

Not really, we've done alot of testing and 2.02"/1.57" is typically the largest we put on the stock 5.3L bore (3.780"). If I changed the valves, I would go 2.02"/1.57".
