If you're running an Alpine 5ch amp to the whole system or any multi-channel amp for that system then I would be inclined to agree. You should be running a dedicated 400-600w RMS amplifier to those subs or you'll never get max volume and control out of them.

Thunder. Then i give you even more props. That is an excellent box. I couldn't build one like that but then again I'm a sales guy for a reason. LOL Now if I could just get my boss to build me one like it for 2 10w7s!!!

Ill have to post some pics of my system tommorow. I have 2 L7 Solo Baric under the back seat 10". And I have a kicker kx 1200.1 and a 600.4 mounted behind the seat. Its all nice and hidden. You can see the subs, but seat folds all the way down, and all the footroom is retained. Ill try and get some pics up tommorow. People with the same amp, and same subs have much deeper bass, but they also have room in a truck to put a bigger box. Ill settle with the clarity that I have and retain my back seat. Besides im not 16 anymore, and i dont need everyone for 3 blocks to hear my music.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have been told that my amp can blow my two subs with no problem. The JL 500/1 is a great amp. Guess i need to find a diffrent kind of box. Has anyone lifted their back seat to get a bigger box under there??

I could use a little more airspace. Its hits decent, but I'm always looking for ways to get louder bass without removing my seat or cutting out my wall. I might get some 10" RE SEs soon. not sure yet

I also have 2 12w3v2's under my back seat, powered by a 500/1 amplifier. The box only has .92 feet of airspace per chamber, but they do alright with some polyfil.

Thought I would be the weirdo and throw my single sub enclosure in here. One JL W0 12 in sub in the vantage box...I needed the under seat space for tools and got a decent deal on the box/sub/amp. Have an Alpine 2 ch amp running it. Hits hard enough to make the factory system not suck.

SaintLos,

You're not too big of a weirdo. I have 2 of those enclosures for my Eclipse 88series subs. I even had to use spacer rings to make them fit. LOL

Default speaker boxes

I went and built two separate boxes for my 2 comp vrs 12s. I counter sunk the speakers so that it would not hit the seat. This also allowwed me to add more air space by going all the way to the bottom of the seat. I then mounted my amp on my center console. I db mine and had 126db. It was good enogh to bounce out 2 15s and win $$.

I have, just about 3/4 of an inch though. I've got 4 Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 10s under the back seat. Two Rockford Fosgate Power 1001db amps pushing the subs, and a bunch of other stuff to make it all work. You can see more pictures, follow the link in my sig. If you would like to request special camera angles just ask.
