I have the magnaflow dumped before the axle. When I had the flowmaster dumped it sounded good until I got headers. Then it was too loud so I went with Magnaflow. I travel to TX and back usually around 2k rpms and it isnt too bad.

I always like the harley davidson ford truck look, sounds awesome with a 40 series flowmaster. I had this but if your trucks lowered like mine was you're going to lose the tips. I had to have the tips replaced like 5 times. They always were hitting something. PM me for video clip.

So... I need more clearance and got a (not to sound gay, don't know how else to descripe the tip design) NEXTEL CUP car exhaust. The tip exits at 1in x14in and is rounded. The tip then v's down to a 3in oval tube inlet that you have to weld. I used a single 3in Spintech pro-street muffler.

I also have a video clip of my truck after I switched to a NASCAR style single type that uses a spintech muffler. Like i said pm me and I'll email you the video's of each.

If you dump it before the axle or put them out before the back tire you will save alot of bends (see flow restriction). It sounds really nice before the back tire. that is what I have, 40 series delta force 3" in dual 2.5" out with edelbrock chrome tips (double walled) my exhaust sytem after the y-pipe is maybe 3' long tops. It sounds great and looks great.

I like the look of exiting in front of the rear wheels, unfortunately the driveshaft interfers on my truck or I would have run on each side. You will hear it more, I like it but it can cause more in cab resonance. I love driving around in 3, rolling down the pass side window and hearing the back pressure it sounds great when you let off the throttle. I hate the sharp bend coming off the 50 flow but the job only cost me 230 muffler and all from alamance muffler in alamance, NC

If I had to do mine over I would go with the flowmaster
Ypipe thats 2x 2.5" in 1x3" out "flange right after the y"-- 3" pipe
into a 3"single in single out magnaflow or aerochamber
for performance or flowmaster for sound dumped before
axle
cheap, easy , less to clean

Which Magnaflow muffler is a direct replacement to bolt to the stock tubes coming from the cats? I just want to get the muffler and send the tailpies out the side before the rear tire. Don't know if Magnaflow sells tailpies for the style I want to do but I'm sure I could fab up something pretty nice once I get the muffler on.
