Escalade Instrument Cluster
#1
What's going on guys, I've got a question. My dad's B day is coming up and I'm going to buy him a few things.
Ideas...
-Goodmark hood
-Escalade Instrument cluster
a few other little goodies...
My question is, what has to be done to put the Escalade cluster in his '03 Yukon? Is this doable? I don't know much about the truck scene, but I know GM, and the basic design can't differ too much between the models.
Will all his little buttons and steering wheels plug right up to this unit and work like stock? Will I have to have someone program his mileage in to the cluster? I'm basically just looking for any help. Whether or not it can easily be done, what has to be done, etc.
I appreciate the help!

Probably should have searched for this first....so I just did
From my understanding everything should fit up great, with the only concern being the mileage reset?
I'm not sure to whether or not he'll be a big fan of having to put a sticker on the door of his truck saying it's been reset. Hmm..
My other question is how can this cluster be changed so that it shows his current mileage? Where's the best place to do it, and who's the cheapest?
Thanks for the help.

As long as it's an 03 or newer escalade (i'm assuming the gmc clusters changed layouts along with Cadillac in 03) cluster it's a direct replacement (four screws and an electrical plug). The only thing is that the mileage will read 0 unless you have it reprogrammed. Dealerships are the only place I know of or maybe a speedometer shop. I haven't reset mine yet.

the esky cluster will will plug right into the yukon. it is a simple plug&play application. the milage will be at 0 and if you want to get it reflashed for your correct milage, GM will have to do it for you. or maybe, depends on who you buy it from, will program it b4 they ship it to you.

Damn, that's gonna look really good with the blue exterior paint. What color does this bad boy light up? Tbyrne is getting a 100 bucks to reflash the unit, that seems damn expensive!
WaitinToDrag, they list 3 different clusters for the Yukon, all with different part numbers. They don't tell you what the difference is though. Any idea?

i think witht the blue background, the numbers just light up white/silver. and if i had to guess, i would think the difference in the 3 would be the colors:white/navy/silver background colors?
i would call and ask them and double check. also when u find the correct part number and background color you want. check around on ebay and gmpartsdirect. theyve got some real good prices also

Tbyrne has it for $250 which seems pretty good to me. I didn't realize there were different colors. Are people making aftermarket clusters now? Tbyrne says he has a cobalt blue one, so does it light up blue, or is the gauge face blue?
I probably won't be able to swing both the hood and cluster, it'll be over $1000 when I'm all said and done. That's H/C money right now, my old man's gonna have to recieve his mods through the holidays

yes there are aftermarket clusters of all types for the gm trucks. i can think of 4 companies right off my head with at least 10 different styles a piece. i have never seen the cobalt blue, but i would assume he means the guages, not the lights
