Up front, just use 2 spring compressors, easiest way to R/I coil springs. You can borrow them from any major auto parts chain.

In the back, I can't be much help, I didn't have my bed on when I lowered my truck so its hard to say what would and wouldnt be in the way.

The biggest problem with messing with the ball joints is you will probably bust the boots open if you use a pickle fork. The lowers are ~$80.00 each and the upper is ~$120.00 each. The upper includes the whole arm. I was one of the first in my area to lower my truck, so it was kind of an experiment. we took one out via ball joint, riuned the boot on the other one before taking it down from the inside. And if you screw up a lower ball joint, you get the plesure of gringing 4 more rivets out to replace it. MAJOR PITA. I had to replace both sides of the lowers (2 times on the driver side due to a rock wedging in there 3 weeks after I replaced it the first time) and one upper. We used a cutting torch on my hangers.

Frt springs are easy
remove the sway bar link
I loosen the nut at the lower ball joint -but keep the nut on
I hit the spindle right where the lower ball joint goes thru
the spindle
The ball joint will pop real loud and hard - since it is under
pressure from the spring.
place a jack under the control arm
remove the ball joint nut and let it down slowly
it will get to a point where there is no pressure on the lower control arm
I push down on the lower control arm - spring comes right out
Go slow - and be cautious - spring is under alot of pressure and can cause
alot of damage.

To avoid the ball joint changing issue - use McGaughy's spindles
no flipping upper control arms
no replacing lower control arm ball joints
swap in - out then align

The rear hangers - I cut the heads off with a cut off wheel
then take a punch and punch the body of the rivet thru the frame
pain but it works.
The drivers side - I loosen and slide the tank over to the right
helps if it is low on gas.

I will be using McGaughys spindles and Hotchkis rear springs on the 03.
Tax refund - Thanks IRS
