Default Door Handles

I have a 03 Avalanche Z71 (Without Body Hardware). I would like to get the painted door handles for it. I have the Dark Grey Metallic color. I have seenpart numbers for all other colors and I have checked out the list of part numbers you guys have accumulated. (Nice list) Does anyone have the part numbers I am looking for. I asked gmpartsdirect.com, but they told me all that would come up for my truck was the black plastic handles. I tried to explain that I wanted the painted handles off of another truck, not stock replacements for mine. It did not work. I called 2 dealerships, no help. I am going to go down to the dealer and get the VIN off of a truck with the handles I want if this does not work. Maybe then gmaprtsdirect.com canhelp me out. Any help is appreciated

You can try ebay motors to see if there is a truck for sale with that color. They will have the vin number on there. Save yourself a trip to the dealer.

lastSS if you give me your last 8 digits of your vin I can check your paint code. You can also just look in the glove box. I work in a dealership and 62U is the dk gray met.

Thanks for all the info. I am going to check the glove box when I get home. I rally appreciate all of the help. I use to post here a lot, I owned a 02 SS Camaro. Sadly, I had to part with it. But ever since I got the Avalanche, the mod bug has come back. I always like this site and all of the information here.

I looked in the glove box and I have 62U. I ordered the handles off of gmpartsdirect.com. It was about 118 for all 4 handles, and that is with shipping. Hopefully, they are the right color. Thanks for all of your informations.

Now, for one more question. Wasn't there a really good write up on how to install these things?

I know this might be a dumb question but I just want to know why do you need a VIN number?
