Default Does my 02 Z71 silverado have lift blocks??

I was wanting to do a 2/4 drop on my 02 ECSB Z71 and have 2" shackles on it now. Are there lift blocks on the back and if so can I just remove them and install 2" spindles in the front to get a 2/4" drop??

thanks

Yeah they come with blocks from the factory.
You don't have spindles on a 4x4. Decrank your torsion bars, but I doubt you can get 2" from doing that. Maybe 1-1.5"

I think the last I checked a 4X4 had spindles? On G.M's they don't have coils.

Check out McGaughy's drop kits for your truck...they make a spindle that will lower the front 2", and you can remove the rear block for another 2" in the rear. Belltech and a few others make torsion keys that allow 1-2" of drop in the front with no adverse effect on ride quality. You'll probably only get 1" by just decranking the factory bars.

I would go with the spindles, I have both in there right now. I went with the keys first and they worked ok. But didnt get that much of a drop. In the rear I have the shackles, hangers and took out the lift blocks. Had to trim the bumps stop front and rear. I took the rear bump stops off the hanger thing and re-mounted it to the frame.

Quiksilver, I love your truck...the more I see it, the more I keep second guessing my original intentions of lifting my truck. Decisions, decisons...

quicksilver,

the truck is bad ***. i defently want to get mine lowererd. just tring to fund other projects (cammed 6.0l) im probably going to take the the blocks out and crank down the torsion keys.

quick how much have you lowered your truck? and with what.
front: 2in drop spindles, lowering torsion keys.
rear: hangers and shackles, took out lift blocks.
is this right?

could you measure from the ground to the TDC of fender flare. i want to know how high(low) your truck sits from the ground?

how is ride quality, compared to stock?

Everyone:
where would the best place be to get 2wd u bolts for the rear axle. stealership wanted $15 a peice for them?
