Default Do not ever forget to lock your truck....

Well after years and years of driving and having nice things it finally happend...

Was running late to work for the second time this week because of annoying issues i have been having with construction/etc. So not only did i not arm my truck when i goto work, i also forgot to take the head of my stereo unit off ( i usally keep it locked in a box attached to my back floorboard).

Didnt get to take a lunch that day at work, so as i was walking to my truck when it was dark out, i unlock it, goto pull the doorhandle and it's loose, i knew that i didnt even have to look inside to know it had been broken into.....Everything gone, the stereo unit, my ipod, connectors, all the cologne i keep in my center console, a new bag of clothes i left in my truck, all my papers in the back shuffled around....Man i have never felt so violoated, just a horrible feeling...Both of my door handles were popped out (which tells me it was probably 2 guys), so i can barely get into my truck right now.

The bright side (if there is one) insurance is going to replace the door handles, which means i can finally get color matched handles, and they are giving me 250 for the stereo which is about what i paid for it so im happy about that as well.

Just an overall crap day, this happend in houston off 59, go fiure...Just wanted to share with you guys to always keep your stuff locked! And if you dont have an alarm get one!!! I have one just failed to use it that day..

that blows. but even if it were locked, they would have still got in. Skipperdaddy has a 199x camary that was locked and they just broke the glass and stole ****. If they want something, locks wont stop them. now he had to replace the stolen goods AND buy a new window!

Same way here, I don't lock my house or my truck, never have. Every couple of years we have a rash of theifs it seems like. I don't really keep anything worth much in my truck, but just the thought of someone else being in my truck and touching my **** bugs me.

Damn. Thats my worst nightmare. Sorry to hear about this man. Glad to hear your insurance is giving you money for the headunit. I know some insurance company's don't cover aftermarket car audio and some will only cover a small amount. If it was at work, are there any security camera's around?
