Default disable auto lamps

how do i do it on a 04 silverado?

the directions at http://www.l13.us/smf/index.php?topic=2563.0 do not work because i dont have a purple plug like it says to use. i have a blue, white, and grey plug on my bcm

edit:

for 03+ cars on the BCM you are going to use two plugs. C3 and C4. C4 is blue and on the left. C3 is brown and in the middle. the right one is blue and that is C2 which is where you do the 4-high mod at.

on C4 the black wire is in B7. On C3 the white wire is on A4. i just put a wire tap on both wires and put a blade terminal on both ends of the resister. then just plug the resister into the two taps. remember to plug all the Cx plugs back in.

Do it at the sensor at the dash... there will be a black wire and a black/White Wire... Cut the Black/White wire and put the resistor there...

I don't think that will work unless you bypass the photodiode....you could jump across the 2 wires with a resistor, but if the resistor is only inline, as the ambient light gets dark, the photodiode's resistance will still riste towards infinity and turn the auto lights on. If you bypass the diode, the circuit will stay complete and current will flow through the path of least resistance, which will be the resistor as the sun goes down

is it possible to cut it out and totally disregard the sensor. then the only way to turn the lights on is with the switch.
