Default Dinged 3 times in 2 weeks by Tx-DPS....please help!

I don't know what it is but lately troopers have not left me alone. I have been pulled over (issued warnings) 3 times in like the last 2 weeks about my tinted tail lights......Any of you guys ever get the same issues? Yes mine are really dark, but imo no darker than half the other people in the Houston area...

Anyways, because i'm tired of their crap - any suggestions? Stock stepside tails as we all know are fugly and i do NOT want to go back to them!!! Any one have any pics of aftermarkets that dont look riced out?

Both of those sets cost no more than 100 shipped, thats all i could find for stepsides and i realllly don't want to spend 2 or so hundred bucks on some other ones from a website (would rather spend my money on something else like headlights)

Any kind of pictures or opinions (good or bad) you guys can give would really help!

Tinted tailights are illegal man, no way around it.

But the second set of tailights you posted look nice and simple!

By the what color is the truck?

NVM I re-read your sig, Black housing on a red truck should look real nice!

I'm thinking the first ones with just a little tint.

^^What he said. If you had to pick between the two, I like the bottom set better. Good luck.

not a fan of clear lights. IMO some lightly tinted or candied stockers look the best

Iv never heard of going to jail for 30 days for laying drag its just a 500 something dollar fine but for the taillights it all just depends on what cop sees them. The only ones that hassle you are the dicks that don't have anything better to do but look for seatbelts and tint. Some cops around here say that they are perfectly legal as long as you can see the brake lights but if you ever get rear ended the car that hit you can actually say he couldn't see you brake lights and win the case.

I got an excessive acceleration ticket and the cop made me get out of the truck and walk around to the front of his car to sign the ticket, he also said I want to show you something. He pointed at the tailights and the third brake light being tinted, told me the state of texas requires a reflector of some kind on the rear on the car.

Put a small round bycycle type reflector or something around the license plate.
