GM_D, the glue can be very difficult to get off if you want the machine marks left on the surface.
I used Aircraft Stripper in an aerosol can and a power washer. I found that the best result were when:

1. the aerosol was kept warm. I wore a hoodie and kept the can in the front pocket when I wasn't using it. Probably wont be as important to do that if you're doing this in the summer. The temperature of the can made a large difference on how effective it was on the glue.

2. I used a high psi tip for a pressure washer. Those dinky local car washes and electric pressure washers probably wont do it. I used a tip I had on hand Briggs & Stratton Quick Connect Turbo Nozzle for Pressure Washers - Lawn & Garden - Pressure Washers - Pressure Washer Accessories. Worked well. A concrete tip on a lower psi may have worked quicker but aluminum is a soft metal.

Patience and about 6 cans of stripper is what got mine done. Results may vary

i tried the aircraft stripper in a can but i didnt know the temp made any difference. i caved an took the wheels to get a chemical soak yesterday, guy said hed only charge me 50 bucks for all 4 wheels. so well see if that works.
