What ever you do go to an auto paint & body supply shop and get an eraser wheel. $10.00 to $14.00. The wheel usually has a threaded arbor so get the adapter that allows for drill attachment.
The pros use fast air tools but are savvy not to burn paint. My electric drill did a great job.
No fuss, no solvent mess and only a few minutes work.
I tried all the solvents and it was like wasting time. I did some nasty bed rail caps double sided tape with relative ease.
I do what ever it takes to get the badge off without scratching paint and let the wheel do the rest.

I just debadged and removed the trim on my '05. Invest in a heat gun and a 3m stripe off wheel. I didn't even use fishing line. Got the end of the molding warmed up with the heat gun, grabbed the corner and started peeling away as I worked down the line with the heat gun. Came off pretty easy. Then just use the 3m stripe off wheel to remove the remaining tape followed by a washing and then waxing the area and you're done. I had the whole truck finished in an hour.
