Default Dash Question

So, I was sitting at the dyno shop today and noticed my paint peeling back on the passenger side. It's black underneath. I was thinking I should just peel it all off then paint the rest of the interior black to match. Question is, Has anyone else done this? I know people paint it all the time but just peel the paint back and not smooth it out...

My dash is peeling too...I thought of peeling it all off also, but I'm sure that there are sections that are adhering really good, and won't just peel off. Then you end up with a half peeled dash that looks like poop, which you end up having to sand and paint

I could be wrong though, the whole dash could just peel off easily...

when i had my 2000 rcsb the dash did that. I think it is from using armerol (how ever u spell it). I asked a buddie that paints and he said take the dash out (or leave it in, what ever u prefer) and use a thinner or some sort of gas and apply to it. but watch cuz it might warp the plastic. and when it bubbles...wipe it off.

might take a couple of times but it worked on my dash

I never used Armor All on my dash, from what I've read it's just real common with the NBS trucks

my parents yukon's dash was doing that as well! they took it to the dealership and they said they just patched(painted) the area tha was pealing! and that was about 4 years ago! and it pealed casue they left sunscreen up there and some leaked out of the bottle.

my dad's 99 silvy had the same problem, and he just took out the dash and sanded it smooth and had the paint color matched to the rest of his interior, it's been 2 years and it still looks like the the day he sprayed it. i can tell you that if you decide to sand it smooth like my dad did, its not hard just a pain in the a$$.

Pull off the end caps, the bezel around the gauges/radio/ac control, pull out both passenger vents, reach in the vent holes and push the buttons to remove the oh crap handle. Two screws on each end one screw behind each passenger vent. several screws behind where the bezel was then carefully slide the top of the dash forward and up. Oh pull out both pillar covers first.
