Default considering a drop!!

so the first rule of performancetrucks is to always SEARCH before you ask a question!! I DID, but with no luck. Looking into lowering my 08 silvy ext cab and i have some question. considering the ground force 2/4(http://www.stylintrucks.com/part.asp...&partid=601739) i know this is the way to go, though it is very expensive. Am i going to have any clearance issues in the rear, c notch? im assuming this is going to be the best bet for ride quality?

You shouldn't have to C-notch unless you go 3/6 from what I have read, but Dominionscowboy I believe went 3/6 without a C-notch...I think that rearend was comming up and slapping when he hit a bump though. I'm lowering mine this tuesday as much as I can without the C-notch

Actually with the new style trucks you don't need to notch the frame unless you go lower than 7" in the back. A 2/4 on the GMT900 trucks isn't going to be very noticeable. I would personally go with at least a 3/5. A 4/7 for the new trucks is like having a 2/4 on the 99-07 trucks.

He has a NNBS its different.
NBS-anything over 4" you will want a c-notch

with a 2/4 you will be fine, i actually havent heard of alot of people notching the NNBS

i thought you could drop the rear 7" without C-notching the frame on the 08, i may be wrong. that is alot of money for a 2/4 IMO.

I'm looking into a 2/4 for my 08. No notch is needed for a 4" rear drop. But to get that 4" drop you have to either use the flip kit or drop leafs (better ride from what I've read). I'm leaning more towards McGaughy's, mainly because of their spindle design. Also these drops are a bit more coin compared to the others that are 3/4 or lower. Anyone know why?

i still want to go 2/4, i love the more aggressive stance and my stock 20's and i don't want to compromise the ride quality of a truck with 1500 miles on it! that ground force kit is pretty steep, but the mcnaughtys kit offers the same drop, what do yall think? the only thing this kit lacks is 130 bucks worth of shocks. sounds like a better deal to me?http://www.stylintrucks.com/part.asp...&partid=524004

The mcgaughys kit is obviously the better deal. People with the ground force like them, but they're really proud of their stuff.

Dont forget to check the GMT900 section of the forum to get Specific 900 information pertaining to lowering. there are a lot of threads in there about dropping the 900's.
