cluster reprogramming
#21
I believe ya. I got the same responses when I was doing the cluster install a few years ago. I just know that no dealership was willing to do it. Cluster was brand new with 0 miles. They outright refused to do it-period, and I visited or called every GM Dealer within a 100 mile radius of me.

I don't think reprogramming the cluster is going to fix that problem. You put the needles on wrong and they need to be removed and put back on right.

Good luck finding a dealer to program it. When I did mine a few years ago, tried every GM dealer in the Houston area, they all refused and kept implying that it was illegal to do. I bought one for my 04 GMC CC and sent it off to a delco repair place in Dallas, and then the other time bought from US Speedo, and they programed it prior to mailing it off.

Well not so much illegal but if they thought it was some sort of odometer fraud. I guess. Besides it didn't cost that much to send it out and have ther delco repair shop to do it.
But as for the original problem, I agree with vicious, if you didn't replace the needles in the correct position, then it will read off.
