Old paint, eh? What year is your truck? Can you post pictures? If it really is just the clear coat and the base coat is unharmed I suppose you could use some touch up clear coat.

The base coat seems perfect.....its just dull cause the clearcoat is off??? The truck is a 99.....it has been outside its entire life but the paint still looks new for the most part. I will take pics and post them tommorow.

when i bought my truck it had some of those ugly beanerific shades over the windows, along the top edge of the doors. when i peeled them off, it took the clear with it.

to fix it right, you need to just scuff the gate with 600 grit paper, and re-clear the whole thing. be gentle, and dont ruin the basecoat, or you'll just have to repaint the whole thing. a good shop shouldnt charge you more than $200 to clear it.

I doubt the clear pulled up with the badges or stickers. I bet it looks different 'cause it hasn't seen any light while the rest of the paint around them has aged.
Try some 'clay', polish and wax....report back.
If it really is the clear then that just sucks!
