The aluminum 16's tend to oxidize really easy, i had the same problem, i clayed and polished them with many different compounds but no luck. so finally i wetsanded and sprayed them with duplicolor wheel coatings

Jeff is there anything you cant do? I have found that commet toilet cleaning soup works good on cleaning tires it might work on wheels as well.

They still are not perfect but look alot better than they did, I used 1500-2000 just to take the oxidation off, then used a wax and grease remover and sprayed a few coats on there.

When you say the rest of the wheel is cast, is it painted, or bare aluminum?
