Default Care and Feeding of aluminum wheels.....

K guys- as many of you know I got a new horse recently and now the concern is about taking care of the wheels. They're aluminum and though I've had aluminum wheels in the past, cleaning wasn't so much the problem as protecting and mintaining them. I understand that most if not all the off the shelf stuff from like Pep Boys contains amonia and other harsh stuff that actually like stips the wheel. Anyone reacommend a product or wash wax method that will help............ Thanks.

I use mother's billet polish and meguiar's aluminum wheel cleaner with a microfiber cloth, and I have no problems.

Is it the stock wheels from GM? If so they're already cleared, at least the face of them is. Just find a cleaner that's non-acidic, but if you are just talking about the stockers, then regular carwash soap is more than sufficient, the brakes on our trucks hardly put out any brake dust.

I wax mine all the time, makes them much easier to clean off.
