Does anyone know of a 98-02 Camaro SS style hood for the late model trucks?

I'm willing to work with a Harwood style "bolt on" scoop, if need be. Just no stick on stuff like the Lunds. Functional, non functional - whatever.

I've got an odd idea for a hood, stripes, and pain job for my truck. Just wondering if the materials are out there to work with.

I found this one... but it's on the large side. I'm looking for somethign more subtle - the SS style scoop.

 

that's the only one I know of for the 03-04 chevy's that is ram air.

Anyone know if the 98-02 Camaro SS hoods are steel? I'm considering building my own hood.

I'm tossing around the idea of getting a damaged hood from a junkyard, cutting out the scoop, and welding it up to another (good) 03+ truck hood. I could then rework the ridge in the middle of the hood to "work" with the scoop better.

I'm mainly worried about the cost of another truck hood, and paint/body work. I'm not sure how cost effective it'll be as opposed to an off the shelf job.

That is of course if they're steel!

 

thats 2toneblowns truck, you can find a ss hood for your truck almost the same on ebay, the only difference is it has the factory crease from the scoop to the front.

 

I've never been a fan of "ram air" truck hoods...i don't think they look good at all. I notice you have an 04, i wonder if the 05 HD hood would bolt up? That would look awesome
