Default Buffout.............

Hey guys, kinda new to this area of the forums. I've been tuning my last 3 trucks courtesy of what I've learned here. Also- been polishing last 3 trucks courtesy of what I've learned here as well; Adams polishes, pads and porter cable random orbital polisher. Now I'm at a frontier I haven't been to B4, off the map for me. I've attached a pic of a scratch that I wonder can be buffed out with a cutting type pad. I've poked around the internet a bit and find Meguires highly regarded. Inspite of the fact that I'm most confortable with Adams prodicts- they also make a cutting and finishing pad, I'd just first like to know what I can do with shat we're all looking at here.............

If there metal showing SOL.just a scuff.go to some where that sale automotive paint and find yourself some 3m compound( the best stuff) and a micro. Cloth to buff it out and get swirl remover to polish it and the wax of your choice

does it catch your nail if you scratch it. go ahead and hit it with the adams polish. if you're lucky it will come out. if not, it will atleast look a lot better.

Well yeah- I've done like the whole 5 step process, and then some; you all know- the 5 pads and accompanying compounds. I was just thinking if a microfiber pad would do a little better. How about touch up paint then cut with a fiber pad?

try wetsanding with a very fine grit and do the 5 steps again. seems like a lot of swirl in the area for a 5 step process to be already followed.

if your nail catches into the scratch, it will be there for now on. i'm sure you can make it look better though.
