Default Broken side mirror

Hey guys, I normally dont post here (always on Ls1Tech). I have a friend who drives a 2007 GMC Sierra and while she was driving to work yesterday morning a plastic piece broke and flew off her passanger side mirror. She went to the dealership and they told her she had to buy a new mirror and it would cost $300! I wanted to see what you guys thought or if you had any idea what she could do. Thanks.

I do apologize for the huge pictures.

PM Torque_Wrench and ask him for pricing for GM stuff. See if it is any better. We just fixed a mirror on one of chevy vans, i was blown away with they wanted and it was no where near as nice as a mirror as this one.

Unfortunately, that plastic piece is probably only available as a mirror assembly, and not separately. $300 sounds about right. You could try ebay and craigslist, and maybe gmpartsdirect.com. As mentioned, PM Torque_Wrench and he'll be able to hook you up with a part number and Chevy pricing.
