Default Brake Light Problem

I just baught a Sir Michaels roll pan and while wiring the light for the license plate i think i blew a fuse, my problem is now the drivers side brake light (top bulb) does not turn on as a running light when it gets dark but it will light up when i press the brake pedal. Ive checked every fuse i thought would control it with the help of my owners manuel, without any luck. Does anyone know which fuse i need to check that would control the top bulb of the drivers side and/or the stock license plate lights. thanks.
