Default Badluck w/centerlines so far....

Went to install my stingrays today. I tried 2 on driver side with Nitto's, a 265/35/20 in front and a 275/35/20 in back and it looked really good but when it came time for balancing 3 were offround acording to the tire shop. They were asking for 7.00 and only one asked for 2.5 so they said they were way off and I saw it with my own eyes. They even showed me a stock wheel and it was asking for like 1.75.
I called Centerline and they offered to send me 3 more in 1 to 2 weeks, hell these took 2 months so I told them I wanted to send them back and my money back. The guy said he will send UPS to pick them up and if they do are bad he would reimburse me.
Well, I am now thinking of giving them a chance and calling them in the morning to have them send me another set and see what happens but I guess I'll sleep over it and talk to them once I get more calmed.
I've read of people having issues but damn, 3 out of 4 bad???? Thinking real hard about getting another set instead of my money back. I could go with stock 20's but everone and their grandama has them downhere. We'll see what happens....:chu g:...

OK.....Took them to another shop for a 2nd opinion and YES, three of them have issues. Just setting them on the balancing machine and the wheels would roll the heavy side towards the bottom. I called Centerline and they said I would get my money back. Also noticed some imperfections on the insides and lips of the wheels, when I asked Centerline they said the don't finish the last step of the process and that it is normal to have that. He said that's why they sell them for that price and they do that to compete with china wheels but with a light forged wheel???? So basically less effort into them and you get what u pay for IMHO.....He said he would make me a whole other set but to the same standards unless I paid $320 per wheel for basically "good quality". Also that I could try and balance them out by rotating the tire, but to me this would mean getting tires as bad as the wheels to be able to rotate them and even out the bad spots on the wheels??? Maybe I am been too picky but the good thing is they are willing to reimburse me plus the guy has not been a dick about it and understood. Here's a couple of pics, this may have something to do with them been off balance.

How were they balancing them? Did they use a Road Force balancer. Was it the tires or did you have them run the wheel by itself? Depending on how the machine is set up and where the weight points are will affect it. I used to use weights on the inside and stickons on the back behind the face of the wheel, always called for alot of weight and I got vibration as well. Then my brother showed me another way to balance them which I believe was static balance where it only uses stick ons in one spot in the middle of the wheel, one wheel only took like .5 and the worst was like 2.00 and the ride is silky smooth with no vibration.

Not sure on the Balancer but I think they were going to use stickons and no weights on the insides. I am sure they know what they were doing, this is a very reputable shop and like I said only 1 was aking for 2.50. Tried one without the tire and it asked for 6.5???

Damn, sorry to hear that. I had bad luck with Centerline as well. Mine arrived damaged and scratched/swirled to hell, plus it took 2 months to get them. They balanced fine, though.

To be fair, they were very willing to help me out. Good luck!

Sounds to me like they tried to static balance them. This is used on trailers and thats about it. They only put weight on one side of the wheen to compensate for the weight on the otherside. If they would have done it right they would have done a dynamic balance, that is balancing the outside and the inside together to get a smooth ride. To be honest IMO the tire shop might be doing shitty work.

I'd say take them to another shop. 3 out of 4 seems really weird. Don't say anything to the other shop about them not balancing them before.

called back centerline and told them to hold back on the calltags for the wheels to be picked up. I am checking with another shop today cause I would hate to send them back and not been bad.
