Thumbs down Badges aren't coming off too good....

It's a pretty windy day, but I figured I would try it anyway. I didn't feel like using a hair dryer, so I just used hot water instead and the first 30 minutes was a pita just like I thought it would be. But when I finnaly started to be able to pull it off enough to see underneath it (the 1500 badge), I noticed there was the tape stuck to the paint which was fine, but I also noticed it was really white and hazy with a bunch of little scratches on some parts of the paint. I figured I did that taking the badge off and they didn't look too bad, so I managed to get them wet, and tried to dry it and rub it away a little, but it didn't do anything! It's weird because if I get it wet for a second it goes away, but once it dries it comes back still the same.

Luckly it's still on there because I only managed to get the last 0 off of the badge, the rest of it is still on strong so it's fine for now. I just want to know if that is just from the adhesive, or because I scratched to crap out of it. BTW, I used a plasic picnic knife, and sorry but I don't know any better way to describe what I'm talking about and sorry for a long post.

I just checked it again, the hazyness is gone now but it's obvious the scratches I made aren't going anywhere. Well aleast I can just leave the badges on now so they can't be seen, yipee.

Dude, remove the badges.. Get all the gunk off. Then get some turtle wax brand polisher, theres two, get the stronger one. get a cloth and the polisher and dab the polisher on the scratches, run it around a little(its a paste) then start rubbing harder and buff it off with other part of cloth. keep this up and they will go way..

Or: My preferred way.. 2000 grit sandpaper. Wet sand it very lightly then buff with polisher and then wax over it.

Viola.

Yup it'll polish out no prob! Use floss if you don't have any fishing line. That works too

when i removed mine i just pulled it off and then rubbed off the adhesive with my thumbs... Works great if you don't mind blisters.
Using a blowdryer burns if you use your fingers, so i wouldn't do that.

I hear wd40 works great or diesel. they'll eat the adhesive and make it easier to rub out.
WD40 would be more recommended.
